The invincible Crutch (a poem of contemplation)

The invincible crutch

Keeps you back from unveiling Grace that abounds

Ties you to a pole, digs you a hole

All that's easy is clothed in defeat

Despair and fear arrest the muscles made to work

A call to rise gets stunted by a thought

I can't do this, so I will crawl

Mediocre thinking in a Gigantic mind

Looking for answers without trying

It's always difficult until you try

To see the light in the darkness inside

Set an example that others can follow

The pity party has to end one day

Out where the lights have stilled the shadows

Pity the one who stopped trying

Who failed the test they set for themselves

Who scored a goal yet felt defeat

Whose eyes have been blinded by carefree lies

Pity the one who quit before dawn

Deciding to stop while the race was still on

Pity the fire fights and still side kicks

Of frenzied twists that show no zeal

But you my friend are much more

So get ride of the invincible crutch

You have more

You are more than the invincible crutch
