Papa’s words …

Your words are a seed

They will never die

Through the years

I have found that you were right.

All the things that you said

In essence, from your heart

And despite pure resistance

Your words grew love.

Your words are a seed

They will never ever die.

They are the echoes of your strength

And the solace of my peace

When I'm restless and afraid

Father’s voice to his children

Are the sweet echoes of my dad

Sown bounties of grace

O how much he cared

And even years down the path

I understand

That these words will never die

Your words are a seed

They will never die

Through the sunshine and the rain

Your words were true

You declared favour and great hope

Even when we could not see

Gifting inspirational dreams

Till our minds held on too

And the echoes of those words

Your kind and warm embrace

The stern look of dismay

When we went astray...

Those words are who I am today

Those words have guided me

And are stories now told

To my sons

Your words are a seed...

They keep growing through the years,

Larger than you would believe

Blooming beautiful

You would be proud.

Your words are a gift

They make strong

They carry the love of the sower

Watered by heaven's love

These words live on...

.

In memory of my dad.
