I was born in the vibrant city of Lagos to a bilingual secretary mum and a French language teacher turned director at the Voice of Nigeria.
Being the third child of four meant getting away with many things and treading safely in the trodden path of my older sister and brother while creating a softer landing pad for my baby brother.
Childhood: The warmth and strength of the Family unit have been a big part of my being. I am blessed with the gift of family, both far and near.
Childhood was bliss mingled with the savoury delights that teach us that life is rarely a straight direct road via the third mainland bridge.
Rather we weave through twists, turning to turns and expressways, perhaps potholes, before reaching our nicely paved path or destination for the flight to the final destination.
Adulthood: University was where my life changed. It opened a universe of possibilities known and unknown hitherto.
This is where I met lifelong friends including the one I chose and married, the one who chose me also, all those years ago.
He is my fairy tale turned reality.
A cycling king who wears a crown of content butterflies fluttering then landing back, quietly fierce.
His is the constant flutter that gives true cadence to all I do.
And then came my boys, now men- the jewels in our distinct crowns.
They teach me to take life as it comes, to laugh at reality, fully live within the moment and to bask in the euphoria of my dreams with open arms, thankfully, unapologetically, trusting His path, stopping to breath and bringing others along. They teach me to fuel my passion with His purpose.
I invite you into this passion of mine, through sharing in my Reflections, Pictures and Poetry, hoping that they strike a spark, a bright propelling light, on how much life there is to live, for all the different reasons we can find, and even more, yet again for those countless other reasons we may never find, at least not just yet.
